Gli Scogli: the rocks. Along this stretch of the Ligurian coast, they rise from the sea in formations that look less like geology and more like intention. Flat enough to sit on, warm enough to stay, close enough to the water to feel the cold of it without moving.
In August 2020, these rocks were full of people. Not crowds, exactly, but the particular density of a summer that felt earned. The world had been quiet for months. This was not quiet. This was the sound of people choosing, deliberately, to be outside.
What the photograph captures is both the stone and the decision. The ancient and the immediate. A place that has always offered itself as a reason to stay.
