ABOUT

Crafted Fine Art Prints

Every artwork by PINES & PALM TREES is created as a finished piece — carefully curated, precisely produced, and made to last. From material selection to framing, each element follows the same principle: timeless presentation, gallery-grade quality, and absolute focus on the artwork itself.

Curated Format & Composition

All artworks are printed in a single, artist-curated size of 70 × 100 cm (or 100 × 70 cm, depending on orientation). Each motif is individually optimized for its specific layout — ensuring visual balance, calm proportions, and the intended spatial impact. Every decision is part of the artwork.

this is our story

PINES & PALM TREES is a fine art studio specializing in curated aerial photography. The studio emphasizes a conscious, artisanal process rather than quick images—starting from the moment of capture to the final presentation of a timeless artwork. The works focus on minimalist forest and water motifs from a bird's-eye view, following a clear and reduced visual language. Each piece is produced through a careful selection and production process. All prints are made-to-order and presented exclusively in strictly limited editions of 15 copies. Material, format, and presentation are integral parts of the work, with every detail—from paper choice to framing—consciously selected to ensure the photographic work remains enduringly experienceable.

The philosophy of PINES & PALM TREES is about the craft of capturing unique moments within nature’s magnificence and sharing them in a way that honors beauty and longevity. This commitment drives the recommendations for paper types and framing styles and ensures that only the best shots are selected for production. At PINES & PALM TREES, the artistic process begins with the moment captured and concludes only when the work is proudly displayed.

Nice to meet you.

Behind PINES & PALM TREES is the photographer Justus Rehn. Born in 1987 in Moers, he spent a large part of his professional life in Perth, Western Australia, and most recently in Munich. During his time in Australia, he discovered his passion for aerial photography. The bird's-eye view became his creative tool to make nature visible in its clarity and structure. Today Justus Rehn lives in Düsseldorf and continues to run his fine art studio from there.
