ABOUT

Who we are
PINES & PALM TREES is a limited edition fine art studio based in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort, Germany, dedicated to timeless aerial photography. Our work focuses on minimalist forest and water motifs captured from a bird’s-eye view, following a clear and reduced visual language. The perspective allows us to reveal patterns, structures and quiet moments that often remain unseen from the ground. This distinct focus became the inspiration behind the name PINES & PALM TREES — a symbolic contrast between different landscapes, climates and atmospheres, united through one consistent visual approach.

What we do
We believe that every artwork carries a story — one that begins long before the shutter is pressed. For us, every stage along the way matters. From selecting a location and waiting for the perfect light and atmosphere, to the moment of capture, the careful curation, the editing process, the choice of paper, and finally the framing solution for its future home — we are deeply committed to every single step.

Each motif is part of what we call a collection — a curated body of work that captures a specific place, a moment in time, or sometimes even an entire season. We keep things simple — because life is complicated enough. That’s why we intentionally offer a limited selection of formats, materials, colours and framing options. Every piece is made to order and released in a strictly limited edition of 15 copies.
How we do it
We are artists, we believe in beauty and the highest quality of craftsmanship. Every product at PINES & PALM TREES is made to order and therefore is unique. You will be receiving a special piece that can be hung with pride knowing that you won't see the same thing in your friend's or neighbor's house next time you visit. Like all great things the process takes time, so please allow 10-12 working days for us to dispatch your order. Trust us it’s worth the wait.

Nice to meet you.
Behind PINES & PALM TREES is the photographer Justus Rehn. Born in 1987 in Moers, he spent a large part of his professional life in Perth, Western Australia, and most recently in Munich. During his time in Australia, he discovered his passion for aerial photography. The bird's-eye view became his creative tool to make nature visible in its clarity and structure. Today Justus Rehn lives in Düsseldorf and continues to run his fine art studio from there.
